I hear often, people do not consider that the food we eat and the health of our bodies has any influence on the condition of our skin. Our diet and lifestyle are directly reflected in our skin’s health.

I was first introduced to this way of thinking as part of the philosophy of Janesce Skin Solutions while I attended their product training. Bestow Beauty is the internal skin care range, to compliment the Janesce philosophies. Janesce Skin Care & Bestow Beauty are part of the Slow Beauty movement, which focuses on holistic skin care - caring for you and your skin as a whole. They are soulmates in your skin care regime, and should be used together.

We believe in caring for your skin and yourself, both inside and out. You can look at nutritional supplements, health and lifestyle programmes to treat your skin (and body) from the inside.

Adding a nutritional aspect to your skin care regime is both simple and straightforward. Your skin is the last organ of your body to receive nutrients. This makes it one of the first places to show imbalances or deficiencies. It makes sense to then say, the nutrients (or lack of) we put into our bodies plays a massive role in the health & condition of our skin. There are six vital nutrients to skin health. Each of these nutrients need to be at optimum levels, for your best skin health. Your skin is only as strong as your weakest link, so for optimum skin health (our goal!) ALL need to be in balance. Your skin will let you know if it's not happy.

  • Essential Fatty Acids
  • Vitamin B

The easiest, quickest and most effective way of obtaining these nutrients is through our diets - the quality of the food we eat. The 'fuel' our bodies need to digest and process.

Some of these may be difficult to get into your diet, and this is where supplementation comes in. When taking supplements, an important factor to remember is that it can take at least 6 weeks before "seeing" any results on your skin. This doesn't mean it's not working before then. We advise to take a supplement for at least 6-8 weeks.

Aside from eating the right foods, taking your supplements and getting your diet right. There is one more thing, internally, that's very important. Your digestion.

Healthy DIGESTION is the key to healthy SKIN.

If your body is not processing the nutrients, you will not be able to use the nutrients. Even after ensuring you are eating the RIGHT nutrients for your skin & health, you then need to ensure your body can process & digest these nutrients to sort what it needs, and dispose of the rest appropriately.

If your body can’t process or use these nutrients, or it has low quality nutrients - your skin cells (and other cells in your body) will not function at their best.

Healthy DIGESTION is the key to healthy SKIN.

A healthy skin is a skin that glows. It is strong, but supple & soft. It is even in complexion. No acne, redness, rosacea, eczema. It ages slowly & gracefully. Everyone can achieve their healthy skin!
